News Update

Hello AFH Toronto,

Just thought I'd give you all a few updates on what is/will/has been going on recently within and around AFH Toronto, as well as solicit volunteers for a few things (see below).

First off, AFH Toronto's new urban agriculture committee met last Tuesday, there was a lot of interest, and we had a good brainstorming session. We are in the process of putting together some educational seminars as well as organizing some field trips, let me know if you are interested.

On that note I should also mention that the architecture and food exhibit 'Carrot City' is on at the Design Exchange until April 30th, there are many interesting projects on display there, check it out before its too late.

On April 15 be sure to attend the opening of 'WHAT HAS ARCHITECTURE DONE FOR YOU LATELY?' at 6pm at the Design Exchange. The exhibit is a conceptual art exploration of the intersection of architecture with economics, health, environment, emotion, and equality but on by ArchiText, see http://www.architextinc.com/doing/ for more information.

Also our next lecture in the Toronto Trilogy is comming up on May 19, also at the design exchange, look for more details in the very near future.

Our annual fundraiser architectural treasure hunt is happening on Saturday May 30th. We need volunteers to help prepare the treasure hunt packages and prizes. If you desire to help please contact Bruce Gavin Ward at bruce@architectureforhumanity.ca

Also we are looking for volunteers to help design promotional material for AFH Toronto, stuff to be distributed at lectures, and expos and street festivals. Please let me know if you have interest in that too.

Finally our next general meeting is May 7th. I look forward to seeing you all there.

Cheers,
Micah
